Information
This aircraft was one of twelve HKP2 Alouette IIs that served with the Swedish Army prior to being replaced by HKP6 Jet Rangers in 1968-1969.
Alouette #01 was the only Army HKP 2 that survived its service without being destroyed in an accident or transferred to the Air Force. Four Alouettes were badly damaged in accidents and seven Alouettes were inherited by the Air Force.
This helicopter was eventually used as a training airframe at the technical Aviation College of Sweden in Västerås. It was transferred to the Swedish Air Force Museum (Flygvapenmuseum) in Linköping/Malmen in 2015.
The helicopter was placed at the Brattbytorpet Vintage Machine Museum in Stavre, near Östersund, in October 2016.
