Information
This helicopter entered service with the Swedish Air Force in July 1962. It was based at the F16 base in Uppsala and was used for local military air rescue purposes in the Uppsala vicinity. The Hkp3s were gradually replaced by 12 long-range HKP 10 Super Pumas in the Air Force. The helicopter types were used together throughout the 1990's - HKP 3 for local 'FRÄD' (military air rescue) and HKP 10 for regional SAR - but the good old Hueys saw their last days in mid-1999 when they were eventually grounded for good.
This helicopter did a short cameo in the Swedish Movie '9 Kompaniet', that was filmed during the summer of 1986 in the Strängnäs and Eskilstuna surroundings. In the film, P-95 can be seen landing next to the Church in the village of Kjulaby.
F16-95 was eventually placed at the Aeroseum air museum at Gothenburg City Airport (earlier known as 'Säve') in Gothenburg. It was included in the museum's first-class exhibition in January 2012.
