Information

This aircraft was manufactured at the French Eurocopter plant in Marignane in 2005. It was the first in a batch of 18 customized helicopters with an increased cabin height (increased by 24,5cm to 1,82m) bound for Sweden. The Swedish Armed Forces was the launch customer of the "HCV" model (High Cabin Version).

This very aircraft made its first flight on March 18, 2005. It was flown by Eurocopter's experimental test pilot Philippe Boutry, flight test engineer Denis Trivier and flight engineer Jean-Claude Rabany.

The helicopter was displayed by Eurocopter/NHIndustries at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget in June of 2005.

It is still (late-2013) carrying its French registration and is operated by Eurocopter in close cooperation with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). It will eventually be upgraded to a mission-ready version.
