Information

This helicopter was constructed by the Bell Helicopters in 1976 and was imported to Sweden by the Bell dealer and operator Ostermans Aero AB. The machine was delivered in early February of 1976 and became the very first, but certainly not the last, Long Ranger in Sweden.

Unfortunately the helicopter was destroyed in an accident in Örebro on September 7, 1985. One of the pedals got jammed by a loose bottle of water during a critical manoeuvre in a flight show, and the aircraft subsequently crashed. The pilot survived miraculously and managed to walk away from the totally wrecked debris without any serious injuries.
