SE-HUS

Information

This helicopter was imported to Sweden from France in late 1989, purchased by a private owner in Gällivare. It entered service with the newly established Kiruna based company Jannair in December 1990. It was operated together with a second brand-new Ecureuil (SE-JAN) and was mainly used for tourism and aerial works throughout large parts of northern Sweden.

The second Ecureuil was lost in a fatal accident on February 10 1992 as it was conducting some aerial filming at low level in the area near Kebnekaise. The pilot lost his references due to whiteout, and collided with a snowy hill. The pilot and one passenger lost their lives.

The company later went bankrupt. SE-HUS lost is airworthiness in 1993 and it was eventually sold to Monaco (registered in France) in 1995.
