SE-JLD

Information

This aircraft was brought to Sweden in early-July 2002. It was officially registered SE-JLD on 12 July. The helicopter was incorporated in Westhelicopter's fleet, which currently consisted of two Colibri helicopters (SE-JLA and SE-JLB).

Accident
On 30 August 2002 the helicopter was badly damaged in an accident in Norway. The 161-hour helicopter was engaged in a reindeer herding operation and it was inbound for landing south of Harvasstua in Hattfjelldal, Nordland, when it was caught in a heavy downwind gust and lost height. The experienced pilot tried to turn around in order to get headwind, but once on contra course the sink rate was too high, why the helicopter hit the ground hard. None of the three occupants on board were injured.
