Boom-strike accident in Norway

Aug 08, 2015
A Robinson helicopter was substantially damaged in an accident in Steinkjer Municipality, central Norway, earlier today. The aircraft was engaged in scenic tours in the area, and the pilot had just switched of the engine following a flight. As the rotor was spooling down an AS 350 B3 from the same company passed over the helicopter, causing the main rotor of the Robinson aircraft to flap down and hit its own tail cone. The Norwegian Accident Investigation Board reports that the aircraft obtained substantial damages in the accident, and the board has now initiated an investigation.
