Jul 03, 2014
A Swedish man fell from an offshore search and rescue helicopter during a medical transport yesterday morning. The aircraft, an EC 225, was en-route from the Troll A platform to Bergen when the patient reportedly broke loose and fell from the helicopter just off the coast of Sotra. Norwegian TV2 states that the body was located in the sea within an hour after the fall.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, but it is currently being investigated by the Norwegian Accident Investigation Board.
