Go-ahead for Värmland’s HEMS

Aug 22, 2014
Today Värmland’s County Council announced that it has been granted the Swedish Transport Agency’s permission to commence its HEMS operation. The permission allows daytime VFR operations in a first step, but it will be extended by adding IFR- and night operations.

“Finally, it feels great that we are up and running”, says health director Tobias Kjellberg of Värmland County Council.

The EC135 helicopter will be operating from a temporary station at Karlstad Airport, where it will be manned by one pilot, one anesthetist and one HEMS crew member.
