Jul 03, 2015
Today Kallax Flyg announced that it has acquired all the stocks in Westhelicopter. The companies, which have their main bases located only 40 kilometers apart, are two substantial operators in the north of Sweden, and they are now forming the largest utility helicopter consortium in the country. Westhelicopter will continue to operate within its own structure for the present being, but the companies says that they will be merged in the future.
- We at Westhelicopter AB are very pleased to be included in Kallaxflyg and we are confident that this will lead to a positive development, through which Kallaxflyg will become the largest helicopter company in Sweden, says Henrik Morin, CEO of Westhelicopter in a press release.
Kallax Flyg and Westhelicopter are both engaged in the same line of businesses, and they both have fleets that are dominated by Airbus Helicopters. Kallax Flyg, which has its main base in PiteƄ, has helicopter stations throughout large parts of northern Sweden and Norway, and they operate a fleet of ten helicopters. Westhelicopter, based in LuleƄ, has bases at several locations in the country, and it operates approximately seven helicopters.
