Sweden’s most northern based EMS helicopter awaits a patient next to the Kårsavagge Cabin, west of Abisko, a couple of metric miles east of the Norwegian border. The helicopter is based in Gällivare and replies to both PRIO 1 emergency calls and sophisticated inter-hospital transports throughout large parts of northern Sweden. The helicopter, known as Lifeguard 998, carries a crew of four; two pilots, one anaesthetic doctor and one anaesthetic nurse.\\\\r\\\\n
