Pilot Daniel Hiebsch is manoeuvring the rescue helicopter on the final approach to a confined area in the backwoods of Gotland (near Tingstäde). We’re currently hovering at quite some altitude in order to blow some of the worst whirling snow away from the landing zone. It seems quite paradox, but the risk of whiteout is an all-so-present threat at night. The blowing snow and landing lights make a bad combination.
