Description
This rather unusual image was shot during a hoist exercise with the most northern based police helicopter in Sweden, “Polis 945”. Note the snowplates on the skids of the helicopter and the ski goggles on the crewman in the door. There are only two winches in the Swedish National Police Wing; one in Boden and one in Östersund (SE-HPY). Both ones are situated reasonably close to mountain regions where mountain air rescue can be needed. The winches are not installed on the aircraft on a daily basis, but can quickly be attached when needed.
