Information
This helicopter was constructed in the Robinson factory in Torrance, US, in 1999 and came to Sweden in the end of the same year. It was purchased by the private owner Roplan Aircraft AB through the Robinson dealer Helicopter Assistance AB. The helicopter came to be based in Tullinge and was flown by its private owner for several years.
As the owner acquired a new fuel-injected Robinson R44 Clipper II (
SE-JKG) in June 2005 this aircraft was sold to Skärgårdsflyg AB (replacing
SE-JFF). The helicopter came to be operated by Stockholm based SWT Aero AB as a replacement for its sold Long Ranger (
SE-HPM) for a period of time, but was later returned to Skärgårdsflyg.
AccidentThe aircraft crashed in the water west of Ornö on 11th of January 2010 due to poor weather. Fortunately nobody was injured in the accident.
The helicopter was replaced by a pre-owned R44 Clipper II in June of 2010. The new aircraft was in fact the same helicopter that replaced
SE-JGA at its previous owner (Roplan Aircraft AB) five years earlier.
SE-JGA's airframe was kept as a technical trainer at the technical school in Malmslätt/Linköping.
