This Schweizer 269C belonged to HT Helikopter Transport in Grillby. It was purchased brand new in 1990 but was sadly lost in a fatal accident in April 1997.\r\n\r\nThe helicopter was engaged in a power line inspection task near to Skärhamn on the island of Tjörn, north of Gothenburg, when it collided with a crossing power line. The inspector lost his life in the post-impact fire and the pilot got severe burns. The crash resulted in the abandonment of piston engine helicopters on power line inspection jobs within Vattenfall due to the likelihood of a fire after crashing with helicopters carrying aviation gasoline rather than jet fuel.
