Information
This aircraft was ordered by the large company Heliflyg AB in 1998. It was delivered to the main base in Borlänge on a cold and humid day in mid January 1999. The Colibri was soon accompanied by three sisters,
SE-JDS,
SE-JDT and
SE-JDY. In other words the EC 120 had proven itself quite useful in Heliflyg's current fleet of Ecureuils, a few Hughes 500s, a Bo 105 and a Bell 214.
Just before the summer of 2000 Scandinavian Helicopter Group acquired Heliflyg AB and united it with Osterman Helicopter AB. The company operated the helicopter for a while before Scandinavian Helicopter Group sold it to a company in Norway.
Still owned by a Norwegian company the Swedish helicopter company HeliNord AB started to operate with
SE-JDP in early-2003. It was based in the Norwegian town Alta, but wasis most often operated in the northern parts of Sweden. HeliNord used the machine for various tasks, but mainly hunting and fishing trips, as well as inventory flights and reindeer herding.
SE-JDP was exported to Malaysia in July of 2005.
